Why vaccinate in the workplace?

• Influenza is a serious and highly contagious disease.

• Vaccination is generally considered to be 70%-90% effective in preventing influenza illness in healthy adults.

• Workplace flu vaccination is cost effective. A large study of healthy employees provided with influenza vaccination prior to a mild flu season realised savings greater than four and a half times the cost of vaccination.1 The savings are more pronounced in years where there are more widespread or severe flu strains present.

• Staff not at work due to influenza can increase pressure on those remaining at work.

• Influenza can slow reaction times by 20-40% for those who continue to work whilst ill, increasing the possibility of error or injury.2

• A flu vaccination program demonstrates an employers interest in the health and well-being of their staff.

Why should you use HSS?

• Home Support Services is a quality, nationally accredited health organisation.
• Skilled registered nurses manage a safe vaccination program.
• HSS maintains comprehensive documentation relating to the program.
• Each flu vaccination recipient will be offered a reward (eg. a lollypop).
